Single Hung Window Prices (Windows Only)
Entry Level Pricing: $100 - $200
Homeowners can expect entry level single hungs to run anywhere from $100 - $200 for the window itself. Expect a product at this price point to be a lower grade vinyl frame with limited color options and less expensive hardware options.
Midgrade Pricing: $200 - $300
Homeowners can expect midgrade single hung window prices to range from $200 - $300. They will often still be a vinyl frame although at this price point you can also expect a lower end aluminum, fiberglass or composite frame material. There will often be a greater number of color options, better hardware, and a solid glass package with argon fills and low E glass.
Premium To High-End Pricing: $300 - $400
Premium single hung window prices will range from $300 - $400. Most of the products in this price point will be either a wood, wood clad or aluminum clad frame. Vinyl windows will typically not be this expensive, although top manufacturers such as OKNA, Sunrise and Gorell can be priced at this level for their high-end vinyl windows.
Single Hung Window Prices
Installation Cost: $50-$200
The cost on installation will run from $50 to $200 per opening. Expect simple inserts to cost somewhere near the lower end of this price range and more complex projects that require work on the sills or exterior window frames to be towards the higher end.
Total Project Pricing
Entry Level Projects: $150 - $275
Entry-level pricing will range from $150 - $275 for both the window and the installation cost. This price point is not recommended for most homeowners and should be reserved mainly for people flipping houses or renting a house because the longevity on these windows is fairly low.
Midrange Projects: $275 - $425
Midrange pricing will range from $275 - $425. This price point is where most homeowners will fall as you are getting a quality window with fairly good installation that should last 20 to 25 years with proper maintenance.
High-End Projects: $450 - $600
High-end pricing will range from $450 - $600. These will be wood clad windows with high-quality installation and should last 30 to 35 years that will look great, but obviously cost much more than the midgrade or the entry-level windows.
